Affiliates in the Classroom

If you teach an SFU class with a focus on new ventures or innovation we can connect you and your students with experienced entrepreneurs and business leaders. These Venture Connection Affiliates can mentor early-stage student ventures, coach your student teams and speak to classes.

Contact us to discuss the nature of the opportunity for an affiliate to engage with your students - call us at 778.782.8101, or email venture@sfu.ca

What can a Venture Connection Affiliate do for my students?
Venture Connection Affiliates can mentor early-stage student ventures, coach your student teams and speak to classes. They are:

- Mentors of students developing a venture-related project for class credit, competition or award
- One-to-one mentors or subject-matter-experts for students participating in Venture Connection's early stage business incubator.
- Guest speakers for SFU graduate or undergraduate student classes, student clubs, or SFU-sponsored industry seminars.
- Judges or panel members for student competitions or class presentations.

Why bring a Venture Connection Affiliate into my Classroom?
At Venture Connection we are building a strong, world-class entrepreneurial program at SFU. Our Affiliates can:
- Inspire and nurture young entrepreneurs and companies.
- Connect faculty and students with new ideas and businesses.

By arrangement with the SFU Beedie School of Business, Venture Connection connects BUS 342 and BUS 477 class project teams with volunteer industry mentors, and the associated I3 Competition with jury members.
